How to Sell Your Junk Car?

A lot of people own cars that are in really bad shape, but prefer keeping them because of different reasons. Some are afraid of not receiving any cash from selling, while others want to keep it for sentimental reasons. However, with the automotive junk market currently booming, the fear of a bad sale has been minimized somewhat. This means that whatever the condition of the vehicle, it can still earn you some money. The spare parts from old vehicle are sold to dealers who later sell them to private individuals. These spare parts are sold at a fraction of the price of a new spare part and are used to repair other comparable models.

When you decide to sell your junk car the first thing is to have it properly advertised to let people know that the vehicle is for sale. You can do this by placing an advert in the local newspapers or on a website. It is important that you give your contact details in your ad as this will make it easier for people to get in touch with you.

Here are Ways you can sell Your Junk Car:

You can decide to sell your junk car yourself without contacting any dealer. This ensures that you get all the profits, though it can take you time to carry out the sale. Here are some points to consider when you are selling.

• First, ensure you have the title documentation for the vehicle. This shows that you are the legal owner. You must also ensure you have with you the tax license number and vehicle registration number and any other important forms of documentation.

• So that you make good money from selling your vehicle, conduct an assessment of the damages. These can include scratches, dents, and bumps together with a list of any parts missing. You can also evaluate the state of the tires plus the general internal and appearance of the vehicle. Having knowledge of these details will assist you in pricing your vehicle correctly.

• If your car can move, add value to it by fixing items that are easily repairable without necessarily incurring excess costs. This will make sure you get a higher amount than if you were to sell an immobilized vehicle.

• The next step on how to sell your junk car is to accept suitable offers given by customers. After placing an advertisement, many clients will contact you, thereby allowing you to choose those with the highest offers. After choosing a suitable client, make transfer arrangements for ownership. You can either decide to deliver the vehicle or better still you can have it picked up by the buyer. Choose the option which will benefit you most.

When you want to sell your junk car, you can also opt to contact a junk car removal service. A lot of people prefer this method as it is an alternative way of obtaining payment without going through the hassle of preparing the vehicle for sale. These companies are interested in buying junk cars no matter what their condition. They actually move your vehicle for free and on top of that pay you for selling them the vehicle. A lot of people prefer this method because these removal companies, particularly those that operate nationwide, can give you a very good price.

You should also consider going to a wrecking yard. It is also a good option and another way you can get cash for your vehicle. Metal bodies of any car no matter how badly kept are worth money and may even be considered for sale to a car body metal company. Remember; always try to pick the most advantageous way to sell your junkie to obtain maximum profit.

  1. QUESTION:
How to sell your junk car for the highest price?
I heard there is a low income program that help you if you sell your junk car in california. It's not the rebate program, but it's some new program where if you're low income and you sell your junk car to the junk yard, you will get around 1k-1.5k. My car is a 1996 camry, it's still running, but it's not drivable since all the air bag pop, and the front compartment doesn't look right. If there is no such program, what is the best way to get rid of it for the highest price!

      Not true.

  2. QUESTION:
How to make a junk car from household items?
I need to make a junk box car for science tomorrow, but I have no idea how to build it.The problem is that we can't use already made wheels and the car has to be powered by 1-2 rubberbands(not using them as sling shots).Any ideas?

    • ANSWER:
Take two pieces of stiff cardboard, scotch tape, two pencils, a rubber band, and scissors. Cut a rectangle from one piece of cardboard. Use the other to make 4 wheels. Cut the rubber band so it is no longer a loop, and tape one end securely to the middle of one pencil. Tape the other end securely to the middle of one end of the rectangle (you could also use a stapler). Attach the pencils to either end of the rectangle by overlapping two pieces of tape so that the ends stick to the rectangle, but not to the pencils. Make sure the pencils are attached to the top of the rectangle, not the ends. Poke holes in the wheels and put them over the ends of the pencils. To run it, wind back the axle attached to the rubber band and release the car. Voila, rubber band car!

How to get rid of a Junk car?
I am in California and not sure of the laws here. I purchased a car in 92, paid it off a few years later and now it’s been sitting around in my garage for the past 4 years because I can no longer drive due to illness. I would like to junk it or at least get it out of my garage. NONE of the paperwork is up to date, and it was recently broken into, so what I did have is now lost. I did keep in my home the sales info from the dealer so I do have proof its mine. I really can’t spend the $$ from the DMV to get everything up to date just so I can junk it..... Should I dig a really big hole in my backyard or is there a way to get this thing out of my hair?
    - Charity will not take unless i get the paperwork from the DMV

    What I should do?

You made the purchase, you made the decision that the car was running fine, and you are the responsible party, not the dealer. If the car engine failed after only 60miles of driving, it had serious issues, when you took possession. There is no one to blame, but yourself.
