How Do Suv Rollover Accidents Happen?

Third, the mass of the vehicle pushes down on the vehicles center of gravity to prevent rolling over. When the forces exerted by the tire and inertia are enough to overcome the force exerted by the weight of the vehicle then that is when the vehicle rolls over. This usually happens when a vehicle is negotiating a sharp curve on high speed.
Tripping The physics involved is similar to excessive cornering. This occurs when an SUV is sliding sideways and the tires strike a curb, dig into soft ground or other circumstances that causes a sudden lateral force.
Collision This occurs when an SUV collides with another vehicle or object, which causes the vehicle to be unstable. An example would be when a narrow object causes one side of the vehicle to move upwards but not the other side, or when a side impact causes a vehicle to accelerate sideways.
SUV rollover accidents can be devastating and usually causes catastrophic injuries like head and spinal injuries.

We are a family of 3 (2 adults; one infant) plus a large black lab. We have a subaru outback as our main car but are looking at getting a SUV or minivan for our 2nd car. We want to be able to travel with our dog plus have room for bags/cargo; plus we are planning on having more children. Would you recommend an SUV (Highlander, Pilot, Tahoe) or a Minivan (Sienna, Odyssey, Sedona)? Other recommendations welcome.-

I like a minivan better just because of the doors. It is so much easier to push a button and have the doors open. The size of the door is also nicer. Try out a few and see which you like better.

See that information before you buy your SUV/Truck. I prefer you go to Chevy/GMC, Ford, and Dodge dealerships to compare all the maximum load weight they can carry from all the SUV/Trucks.
The SUV/Trucks I think can carry super heavy loads are those new powerful 2011 Chevy Silverado HD trucks that can haul over 20,000lb!!!If you just want an SUV, go with a 05-08 Dodge Durango. It has max towing of 8850lb's. or a 05-10 Ford Expedition, and/or 07-10 Chevy Tahoe, choose wisely.
