When you purchase a used car from a reputable car dealer, you will be getting a car that has been properly inspected and prepared for sale. When dealers get their used cars, the cars will be checked for cleanliness and thoroughly cleaned, both the interior and exterior of the car. A used car may have small bit of faults because it is used, however, the car itself is in good condition and will come with a used car warranty in case there is a problem right away. As well, you will pay less for taxes and other fees that come with buying a new car.

Certified pre-own cars are another good reason to purchase a used car. These are cars that go beck to the manufacturer to be thoroughly inspected, any repairs are done, extensive cleaning and detailing of the car, and these cars normally have low mileage. As well, there is no serious damage in the past and these used cars come with a better warranty. Although these cars are more expensive than regular used cars, you know you are getting a good car. Buying one of these cars from a car dealer is a popular choice for people looking for a used car in great condition.

When you buy a used car, you have the ability to learn all about the history of the car. You can get a copy of the used card vehicle history report which describes the entire history of the car such as any instances of major accidents or a specific problem with the car had to be fixed a number of times. It will help you learn about the reliability of the car so you will not buy the car and suddenly find you have to pay an expensive mechanic bill. The used car dealer can often provide you with the car's history or you can use the vehicle identification number (VIN) to get a copy of the report. AutoCheck and CarFax are places where you can get the vehicle history report.

    • ANSWER:
New cars - can allways finance it (pay for it monthly, some used cars you cant do that)
-Dont have to worry bout it breaking down
      -has a warranty
      -looks way better
-insurance will be better (because it wont be breaking down as much as a used one)

Used cars- Not allways have the choice of financing
      -could break down without knowing
-usually has no warranty, if so, little
-parts will start to fall off easier
-depending on car, insurance can be expensive
-Used car salesmen are taught and trained to lie so that you buy the car thinking nothing is wrong with it until the next day stuff starts breaking. (Use craigslist to buy a used car not a dealership for this reason)

In conclusion: If your looking for good insurance - NEW
If your looking for a nice fresh look - NEW
If your looking for a good price - USED
If your looking for a reliable car - NEW or craigslist used
If your looking for a Warranty - NEW
If your looking for financing - NEW

I would get a new car but a low year like 2007 instead of the 2009's or 10's
      good luck finding a car!!!
