Where To Donate Your Car

Auction Cars - What Do You Need To Know?
With auction cars I mean cars bought at a public auction. There are several kinds of auctions: private auctions, government auctions, police auctions, bank repossessed car auctions etc. Government auctions are considered as one of the best places of buying cheap decent new and used cars.
We are talking about great deals on quality cars that were seized in a government raid or for whatever reason came into the possession of the federal government.
Government Seized Car Auctions
Government auctions are not the same as the bank auctions of repossessed properties and cars. The government auctions are for seized vehicles that they are trying to get rid of in order to avoid them taking up space in a government parking facility.
If they can make a few dollars from their seized vehicles that's an advantage for them. Thus they will take any bid they can get. The bank will not. Because of this, government auctions would be a better option for buying cheap cars than a repossessed car auction of a bank.
Online Car Auctions
Car auctions are held all over the country where people go and place their bids. However, not everyone lives nearby an auction site. Nevertheless, anyone who has a computer and an internet connection can still bid on a government auction. You even got the option of mailing your sealed bid for a vehicle in to the auction.
Government Surplus Auctions
Another way to purchase cheap but quality auction cars would be at a government surplus auction. If you are looking for great car deals you can also participate in a government surplus auction, which is a little different from seized car auctions. The reason the government arranges these auctions is because of their need for renewal of their own vehicles. When the government's vehicles become too old to function properly, they need to replace them while the old are sold at surplus auctions. At surplus car auctions you can also get used vehicles fairly cheap.
Military Surplus Vehicle Auctions
A special variation of government surplus auctions is the auctioning of military surplus vehicles. Combat vehicles such as thanks and other armed vehicles are not offered, but you can get jeeps and other lower end vehicles at a very nice price.
Where the Great Deals Are Done
As we have seen above, the reason why so many great deals are done at government auctions is that the government does not want to play the role of a business but rather get a few dollars for vehicles they cannot use anymore.
So, why don't you run to the nearest auction and bid on decent auction cars or go online and find a government auction at a price much lower than the car's listed value.

ANSWER:
I do know someone who received one of these cars. He was a recovering heroin user, with 2 kids and was beginning some college courses to help himself. He needed transportation to get to classes. I believe the car was actually given through a local church group, though he was not a member. Call your local Salvation Army or St. Vincent Depaul centers. and one of them should be able to help you with the information you seek.
